Kabbalah Red String

People often ask me what I use for spiritual protection. In addition to various psychic protection techniques and energy systems, prayers and mantras, the most powerful and effective form of spiritual protection for me is wearing my Kabbalah Red String. I have worn these since 2008 and it has literally saved my life on more than one occasion as well as deterring psychic attacks (very important in my line of work)

The Red String is used by followers of Kabbalah as a form of protection against what is termed The Evil Eye. The idea of using such a protection has been known for thousands of years and is to be found in many cultures. Even Greek fishermen today often paint an eye on the bow of their boats to ward off evil. In the image above can be seen an Egyptian symbol used for just such a purpose, The Eye of Horus.  Therefore the idea of Kabbalah making use of just such a tool should be no real surprise to us.

The wearing of the red string comes from an ancient tradition in Israel. The tradition is for people to wind red string seven times around the tomb of Rachel, the matriarch of the Jewish people. She was buried between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Having been placed against the tomb, the empowered string is cut up into short pieces and worn tied around the left wrist. The left being both the receiving hand, as well as the feminine. This is no different to wearing other Holy relics, such as those of Saints whether Christian or Eastern for both protection and inspiration.
